Healthy Air for North Denver (HAND)

Healthy Air For North Denver (HAND)

HAND was a collaborative effort of people representing citizens, government, business, and non-profit organizations working collaboratively to improve North Denver’s environment. From 2005 through 2008, HAND was funded through an EPA Community Action for a Renewed Environment grant and was coordinated by Groundwork Denver. HAND’s four work groups: Land Use and Planning, Diesel and Stationary Sources, Indoor Air, and Community Involvement implemented many projects that improved the North Denver neighborhoods of Cole, Clayton, Sunnyside, Globeville, Elyria-Swansea, Northeast Park Hill, Chaffee Park, Highland, and southern Commerce City. While the official HAND collaborative is wrapping up in 2008, the partnerships and projects continue in different forms.
