Results so far: 12,304 Porch Bulbs Swapped = 738 tons of CO2 per year avoided and $73,824 saved per year!

The Porch Bulb Project provides us with direct measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions while also providing a unique strategy to reach Denver’s low-income and elderly residents with assistance to reduce their energy bills and other free services.

The straightforward action of swapping a porch bulb opens the door to a more in-depth conversation about energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions. The neighbor-to-neighbor, door-to-door approach allows us to engage the most needy residents, such as the very low-income and elderly, who are often hard to reach through standard communication methods, like fliers or advertisements.
